The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) conducted a meeting on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City. The meeting was presided by Gov. Al Francis C. Bichara as a response to Resolution No. 41 issued by the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) placing the entire Albay province under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). The meeting was attended by the Local Chief Executives and heads of offices of concerned departments/agencies.

Throughout the said meeting the council discussed about the COVID-19 updates.  Provincial Administrator, Engr. Ma. Vida Corazon Prollamante said that there are a total of 2,386 locally stranded individuals and Returning Overseas Filipino from the province. Through the “Albay Libreng Sakay” (ALS) program, 548 locally stranded Albayano at Baclaran Church are set to go back to province. The province will monitor both the travel history and the health condition of the said returnees and rapid testing that will be administered as part of monitoring process. Gov. Bichara also considered the need to provide food and health care assistance to them. LSIs will be quarantine at PGA designated Quarantine Facilities. The council also discussed matters regarding the status of public transportation, the issuance of travel authority, and the dismantling of some PNP checkpoints under MGCQ. -CMC-
