On the formal opening of this year’s Governor’s Cup at the Albay Astrodome here in Legazpi City, Divine Word College of Legazpi’s candidate, Miss Famaele Nica Carriaga emerged victorious among 28 candidates from various schools and academic institutions as she garnered the crown of Miss Governor’s Cup 2016.
Ms. Carriaga, a Bachelor of Science in Management and Accountancy student in DWCL, hails from Bacacay, Albay, and is no stranger to competitions like this, having entered various beauty competitions and has gone through several modeling stints.
Joining Miss Fam Carriaga as winners, are Nicholle Manansala, from STI-Legazpi, who received the judge’s nod as Miss Tertiary, and Rhea Mae Sambajon from MORMS, as Miss Secondary.
After the formal opening ceremony, an exhibition volleyball game between an Albay selection team and the Bicol State College of Applied Science and Technology (BISCAST) team from Naga City was held with the latter emerging victorious in a two-set game.
The first official game for the Boys’ basketball games was also played after the coaches drew lots for their spots, with Polangui General Comprehensive High School handing the Bicol University High School their first loss after scoring 87 against BU’s 53. (PGA-PIO) RCFRernandezIII November 17, 2016
