The Marcial O. Ranola Memorial School Jaguars gained the rights to wrestle the Governor’s Cup crown from the Santo Domingo National High School Red Dragons as they defeated the Saint Agnes Academy Lambs yesterday at the Albay Astrodome via a 10 point win.

A combination of tight defense, quick passing, and lightning quick fast breaks, gave the Jaguars the edge as they prevented the Lambs from inching forward. Coupled with an off day for the SAA boys’ outside shooting, the Lambs fell to as much as a 20 point deficit in the 4th quarter.

A mini-run by the Lambs gave some ray of light as they managed to trim the lead to 8, but with MORMS regaining their composure, the run was abruptly cut short. Poor free throw shooting and numerous turnovers also didn’t help the SAA’s cause.

The MORMS Jaguars will face 5 consecutive times champion SDNHS today at 4:30 pm at the Albay Astrodome to determine the champion for the Season 18 of the Governor Al Bichara’s Cup.
