The Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) convened yesterday (April 20, 2020) at Albay Astrodome, Legazpi City, Albay for their second quarter meeting. As the chairperson of RPOC V, Albay Governor Al Francis C. Bichara presided over the meeting and discussed agendas pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was attended by different Provincial Governors, Mayors of highly urbanized cities, president of the Leagues of Municipalities and the regional counterparts of the departments, offices and agencies mentioned and enumerated on Section 1, paragraph (a) of the Executive Order No. 773 signed by former President Arroyo. Other members of the council participated on the meeting via ZOOM video conference.
During the said meeting, the council formulate plans on countering and answering problems and issues arising during this time of emergency. The said consultation enables the council to come up with a collective decision on drafting a resolution modifying the enhanced community quarantine in the entire Bicol Region subject to the general guidelines to be set by the Bicol – Inter Agency Task Force. The resolution will be submitted to the National Inter Agency Task Force for further discussion and deliberation.
